How did you meet? and how long were you a couple before you got married?
We met in the summer of 2017 at Cherrystone Camping Resort in Cape Charles, VA. I was going into my senior year of high school and he was going into his junior year. Although we lived in different states that didn’t stop us from being inseparable. I would drive up every weekend to his house or he would to mine. We were together for almost 5 years when he proposed.
Why did you choose Castle Farm as your venue? What were you looking for in a venue?
We toured around 9 other venues before Castle Farm and as soon as we set foot onto the property we knew this was where we would get married. Catherine was so welcoming along with everyone else we met there. They made you feel like family. I was looking for a venue that had everything. My vision was an outside modern wedding, which Castle Farm could provide.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
The most memorable part of my wedding was sharing so many new memories under the reception tent. It was everything I ever dreamt of when I envisioned my wedding.
What was most unique about your wedding?
I believe what was most unique was the ceremony barn doors my dad built to give my grand opening that magic moment it deserved.
What were your wedding colors and themes? Who was your wedding planner? Did you use a rental company? Please describe your decor and florals. Who was your florist?
My wedding colors were simple. I had a touch of green within my florals, champagne that my bridesmaid wore, and mostly white! We used Pretty Little Wedding Co. for our silverware and chargers. My decor was modern in my opinion. I wanted to give a modern, classic, timeless feel to my wedding. Therefore we did tons of florals and candles across all tables giving it that modern intimate feeling.
Is there anything about your day that you wish you would have done differently?
Not at all!! Castle Farm took all the stress off of me and everything went just as planned. If I had to give a tip to any other brides who are planning I would recommend having your wedding at Castle Farm Weddings.
What were the favorite moments for your guests? What feedback did you hear most from your guests?
My guests rave about the venue. I had so many compliments afterward, saying how gorgeous and well-kept the venue was. One special moment was told by my aunt how my grandmother was cold at the reception. All it took was for her to say something out loud once and the workers for Castle Farm brought her a heater. It touched my entire family’s hearts.
Who was your caterer? Please tell us about the food and service at your reception.
My career was mission BBQ. The food was buffet style and we chose pulled chicken and pork. Along with macaroni and cheese, sausage, and cornbread as our sides. The service at the reception was fantastic. They served everyone quickly and efficiently. No hiccups occurred.
Did you attend an after-party? Where did you spend your wedding night? honeymoon?
We didn’t attend any after-party’s. Mostly all my wedding guests stayed at the Island Resort Campground which was about 15 mins or so from the wedding venue. It was perfect because everyone had a wonderful time catching up with one another before and after the wedding.
