I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Public Relations, Journalism and Marketing. While attending WVU I interned for large organizations like Make A Wish Foundation, Teen Vogue and The WVU Public Relations Society of America. Like many other college students – I worked in the hospitality industry which turned into Management positions. Upon graduation, I moved to Ocean City, Maryland and decided after years of Restaurant Management, Corporate Events, Fundraising and more – Weddings was my true passion.

Combining my experience in the hospitality industry, catering, + event coordination, I have the tools to execute a perfectly planned event. With over 10 years of experience in wedding planning, Belle of the Ball prides itself on creating stress free planning experience.

What was your inspiration to start a wedding business?

When I was 11 years old, my Mom took me to see The Wedding Planner as a Mother Daughter date. We walked out of the movie and I looked at her and said “I am going to be a wedding planner!” Fast forward to a few years later as I was applying for colleges, my counselor persuaded me that wedding planning is not a real job (little did she know!). I dove straight into college focusing on nonprofits and marketing events. When I was assigned my first wedding at a restaurant I was managing, I knew that little girl at 11 years old was right.

I loved all of the love. The room radiated with happiness. Families merging, friends celebrating, the beauty of the details. It was amazing to me. It sparked something inside of me to learn more about the wedding industry. I wanted to make the day even more of an experience for the newlyweds and their guests and of course, all of the beautiful details!

When the wedding day approaches – the day is as important for me as it is for you. Not because I was hired to do so, but because I genuinely care about the happiness of my couples. I am professionally and personally invested in the success of the day and the happiness of you, your family and friends.

What type of couple should choose you? What makes you unique in the industry?

Our team has coordinated Indian weddings, Jewish weddings, same sex marriages, weddings with budgets of $100,000 to small weddings of 50 people. At Belle of the Ball – we collaborate with our couples and selected vendor team to explore your ideas, your wants, your vision. I love that no couple and no wedding will ever be the same and when I am faced with a new experience I enjoy every second of it.

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is after the couple exits the ceremony. Following the newlyweds recessional, there is a brief moment where the couples is alone for the first time as a married couple. In this moment, the emotions are a combination of relief, excitement and true love. It is an amazing thing to witness and I feel honored to be a part of it.

What can couples do to partner with you in making their day perfect?

If your budget does not allow for Full Service Planning and you are looking more towards Partial or Month Of planning, add the design assistance or check in calls into your package!

The design assistance will allows us to build your vision board out together. We will cover all of the details – flowers, linens, signage, cake toppers etc. This will help you stay on track throughout the planning process.

If you feel like you have the design process handled, the check in calls offer us the opportunity to see how the major milestones are progressing and what still needs to be checked off the list. These small upgrades will give us the chance to connect prior to the start of your package to help make sure the details are coming together as they should.
